Where there is light, there is also shade. | ||

Around a third of the city lighting in Germany is at least 20 years old. Back in those days we had the VW Santana, the Ford Taunus and the Trabant on our roads. Those old gas-guzzlers generated huge amounts of CO2. Though such techologically outmoded cars have almost vanished from the urban landscape, in many places the old street lighting remains. In fact, public lighting accounts for almost 50% of local authorities' spending on energy.
