Modernising listed street lighting.
Karl-Marx-Allee, Berlin.

Economy and heritage protection need not be contradictory – even historic lighting can be efficient.

The candelabra luminaires in the sophisticated Karl-Marx-Allee are architectural masterpieces from the 1950s. In our light manufacturing plant in Berlin, the listed luminaires have been recreated down to the last detail.

At a height of 1.30 m, the 205 two-armed and 10 magnificent four-armed candelabras are captivating. The 4 x 70 W halogen metal vapor lamps with ceramic burner technology are replacing the old 4 x 250 W high pressure mercury lamps.

Long-term, around 70% is being saved on energy and CO2 as a result of the upgrade.
